Shine™ – Track Your Fitness Activities

Shine App iconShine is an app that lets you set goals for weekly activity and track your progress. There was an indiegogo project for a wearable device that will be the companion product to this app. The device, when available. will be the size of a quarter and introduce a new way to sync with your iPhone. Until that product becomes available, the Shine app can still help you plan and provide motivation.

Update 8/3/13 – at long last my Shine has arrived.  I’ll begin testing and providing additional feedback as to ease of use.  You’ll find that content at the end of this review.

Couch-to-5K — It’s Time to Get Off the Couch

Touch Your Toes In Ten Days – Flexibility Training Yoga

    I will go ahead and admit it.  I cannot touch my toes.  During various parts of my life, I have been very active and fit and I have never been able to do it.  Right now, I am active and it is more important than ever that I do flexibility exercises.   Imagine my delight when I found Touch Your Toes in 10 Days for iPad.  There is also an iPhone app.  I have been doing the exercises for about six days now and I am making progress. I don’t always manage to find time to do them twice a day – so any lack of progress can be chalked up to my commitment.  Having said that, I am confident the stretches will help me reach this elusive goal.  Honestly, even I didn’t, I feel really good after I do these stretches and I can imagine keeping them up for the long haul.  Continue reading “Touch Your Toes In Ten Days – Flexibility Training Yoga”

MyFitnessPal App – An Easy Way to Track Your Diet and Exercise

MyFitnessPal is a helpful tool for keeping track of your food and exercise.  The My Fitness Pal HD version is for the iPad. Up By Jawbone – Back on the Market and Better Than Before!

Part of attaining and maintaining good health is the ability to monitor and understand your daily activity, sleep and diet.  Up by Jawbone, a wristband that works with this iPhone app, helps you along that path.  The feedback the app provides you helps you to understand what you need to do to have better health.  When you know how many calories you burn through activity, you can determine if you need to exercise more.  By monitoring what you eat, you can make healthy changes to your diet.  Knowing the quality of your sleep helps you to plan and improve that vitally important part of your health regimen.
