Glasses.com for iPad – Shopping For Frames Is Super Easy

Total Score: 29

This app, Glasses.com, is the perfect companion to help you shop for frames for your lenses.   I don’t know about you, but when I am standing in a store I would prefer to shop for frames with my glasses on!  This app allows you to see how frames look on your face and order them through the app.  With the information provided, you could, of course, find a local store, go try them on and then arrange for your purchase through them.  I happen to be in the market for new frames, so this app came along at a perfect time.

Wake Up WIth Disney – A Can’t Miss Alarm App

Total Score:  28.5

I’m not one of those people who searches for new and different alarm clock apps.  The standard one was fine with me until I discovered Wake Up With Disney for iPhone and iPad.   This app has all the standard functionality of an alarm clock app, but with a Disney twist.  What would be better than to have Donald Duck screaming at you to wake up.  It made me laugh as I was testing it and I really do believe it would make me laugh every morning.  This could be appealing to children, but it’s equally appealing to us grownups.  Why shouldn’t it be, we’ve known Donald for a long time.  Continue reading

Finish – Stop Procrastinating and Finish Your Tasks

Total Score:  29.5

Finish is a procrastinator’s dream – well, if your dream is to finish things.  This app allows you to see your short-term, mid-term and long-term tasks at a glance.  This app helps you stay focused on what you committed to work on during a certain time and still keeps what’s coming up visible.  You might gather from my app reviews that I have a lot of tasks and I struggle to keep up with them.  That would be completely accurate. I have tried a lot of productivity, to-do type apps and now, Finish is my go to app.

I test a lot of productivity apps because I crave organization.  I am not organized by nature, so I need a lot of help.  I want options to order reminders by date, by category, prioritize some – but not others, get reminders, add, and move them around easily.  Any.DO does all those things, and a few more.

Total Score:  29.5

I am a list maker, and my iPhone and iPad have certainly added to my ability to keep track of things, but when I found this specialized travel checklist I knew I found something that would be a must-have for organizing my travel experiences.   I am not an adventurous traveler, so if I forget anything I can usually replace it at a local store.  All I face is an inconvenience and a loss of time.  But what if the thing I forgot was something that was critical to the experience – like a special dress for a wedding.  That can move forgetting something from an inconvenience to a major disappointment.  Don’t let that happen, let the Essential Travel Checklist for iPhone and iPad help you keep track of everything you want to do before you go and everything you want to take with you.   Continue reading

Over 40+ Magnifier and Flashlight

Total Score:  28.5

I can’t believe it took me so long to find Over 40+ Magnifier and Flashlight.   It isn’t often when I find an app that makes me say, “I wish I had thought of that.”  This is certainly one of those times.  In a nutshell, this app magnifies text (or objects) and turns on the flashlight to help you see.  How simple is that?  You can easily think of a number of uses like reading fine print on labels or reading menus in dark restaurants.  I can’t wait to find more ways to use it.   Continue reading

Get Up and Go With Alarm Clock – One Touch Pro

Total Score:  29

I have been ignoring alarm clock apps for a long time.  Apple made a perfectly good one, why would I need another one?  Well, I read about Alarm Clock – One Touch Pro and how there had been millions of downloads for the previous version and thought I’d give it a try.   It is so easy to set an alarm.  I’m sold on this app,  I will be using it as my primary alarm clock. Remember The Milk and a Whole Lot More

Total Score: 28

I have used a number of the reminder type apps and up until now haven’t found one that meets all of my needs. This app may be the one I have been searching for.  I’ll go into all the details below, but Remember the Milk has a couple of things that I like.  I know it may be shallow, but I like my reminder app to be attractive – and this one is.  You can easily organize your tasks by day, week month and not just one list.   I suppose it’s not important, but I love the icon!
