Taskboard – Simple Lists and Visual Worklow

Total Score:  29.5

I have a lot of tasks on my plate.  I continue to search for a simple way to keep track of them.  About a year ago someone told me to write my tasks on index cards and prioritize them by color.  I liked the method, but I couldn’t really keep it up because I needed to see all the tasks at once.  This app, Taskboard – Simple Lists and Visual Workflow is just what I needed.  I love the ability to see an overview of what is outstanding and the ease of moving the tasks around.  I think you will too.     Continue reading “Taskboard – Simple Lists and Visual Worklow”

Flipboard for iPad – Flip Through Your Favorite Content

Total Score: 29.5

It is hard to categorize Flipboard, but I’ll try.  Their marketing material calls it a “social magazine” and that is a pretty good description.  It takes your social media (Facebook and Twitter), displays it in a dazzling magazine format, and offers you articles from such notables as Fast Company and Wired Science, allows you venture over see who’s hot according to People Magazine or what is up at Etsy.   It was love at first sight for me.  I could spend hours exploring each option. Educate Yourself with Fooducate – Diet and Health Tracker App

Total Score: 28.5

If you want an app that allows you to track your food and help you make smart food choices, then Fooducate is the app for you.  You can set goals, enter your meals and record your exercise.  You may be asking yourself how is this one different from the other apps that record your meals?  What it does is grade the foods you are eating so that you can learn to make better choices.  Or, you may wish to eat foods that are not genetically modified, but don’t know which ones are.  This app can help there too.  Knowledge is power (according to Francis Bacon) – and this app helps you find that knowledge. Add Fun to Your Photos With Halftone

Total Score:  29.5

Photography is not my forte so I have not focused on photo enhancing apps. However, I discovered Halftone and think it has the right balance of ease of use and photo sharing that makes it interesting to me. If you share a lot of photos on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and want to give them a little oomph then I suggest you give this app a try. Halftone takes your photos and through the use of filers and captions, gives them a vintage comic book look and feel.
