Get Inspired with the InspireU App

Total Score: 29

We all need a little inspiration from time to time.  Sometimes reading a phrase or seeing a picture lifts our spirits and helps us get through difficult times or just brightens our mood. That is the sole purpose of the InspireU app. There aren’t any fancy bells and whistles, just a little on-screen encouragement.

Price Rating = 4     99 cents – I know it is not a lot of money, but this app has ads, so I would have preferred this one to be free.

Ease of Use Rating = 5     It’s quite easy to use.

Readability Rating = 5     The icons and the buttons are easy to read.  Sometimes the inspiring messages are hard to read, but that is not an app design issue.

Will You Use It Rating = 5     It is healthy to stop and think about the good things in your life.  So, an app that reminds you of them can be helpful.

Downsides Rating = 0     I did not see any downsides.

Consumer Review Rating = 5     There have only been six reviews and all of them positive.  I did see a lot of “pins” on Pinterest, so this is clearly a popular app.

Why Do You Need This App Rating = 5     There are over 9 million inspirational sites on the web.  I can only conclude that people find them helpful.

How does it work?

  1. Once you install the app, you can click on it to see the day’s message.  You can click the refresh button to get a new message or click on the gallery button to choose from more than 10 others.
  2. You will get one message a day as a reminder on your iPhone/iPad/iTouch screen. A tool icon allows you to set the notifications on or off.
  3. You can save the photo to your camera roll, you can save it as an Instagram photo, tweet it, or post it on Pinterest.

It’s really that simple.  It is just an app to brighten your day.  I guess it could be worth 99 cents to do that.

Devices:  This app is compatible with iPhone 3GS, 4 and 4S as well as iPod touch (3rd and 4th generation) and iPad.  It requires iOS 5.0 or later.  It was developed by Mortadela Network.
