I will go ahead and admit it. I cannot touch my toes. During various parts of my life, I have been very active and fit and I have never been able to do it. Right now, I am active and it is more important than ever that I do flexibility exercises. Imagine my delight when I found Touch Your Toes in 10 Days for iPad. There is also an iPhone app. I have been doing the exercises for about six days now and I am making progress. I don’t always manage to find time to do them twice a day – so any lack of progress can be chalked up to my commitment. Having said that, I am confident the stretches will help me reach this elusive goal. Honestly, even I didn’t, I feel really good after I do these stretches and I can imagine keeping them up for the long haul.
Price Rating = 5 $4.99 at this time. It was 99 cents when I first reviewed it. It does provide good tips for flexibility training. I think it’s a reasonable price for having a personal trainer at your beck and call and an app that helps you become more flexible. Mike, the trainer, explains the exercises in a way that is easy to understand.
Ease of Use Rating = 5 The directions are easy to follow.
Readability Rating = 5 The primary font is completely readable. The text explaining the exercises is a little smaller, but is accompanied by video and photos.
Will You Use It Rating = 5 If you bought this app, it was because you can’t touch your toes. You will find it easy to use and I expect you will continue until you achieve your goal.
Downsides Rating = 0 I didn’t see any downsides.
Consumer Review Rating = 4 There are less than 200 reviews and they are primarily very positive.
Why Do You Need This App Rating = 5 Being physically fit requires strength and flexibility. This app helps you focus on one area – your hamstrings.
How does it work?
- This is a very simple app to use. The opening screen has an Introduction and Day 1 – Day 10 exercises.
- Listen to the introduction to learn a little bit about Mike, the trainer and an overview of the program.
- Click on Day 1 and you will see five exercises. Click on any one of them and you can see a video showing you how to do each exercise. Underneath the video is a graphic showing what muscles are being worked and a description of the exercise. In addition, there are still photos of each position of the exercise. You won’t have any trouble following the instructions. Finish the five stretches and make sure you do them twice a day.
- It may come as a surprise, but Day 2 through Day 10 have identical instructions. The reason you would click on the days is to get that feeling of accomplishment and to keep track of your progress.
Touch Your Toes in Ten Days is a great app to improve your flexibility. It is not just about touching your toes, stretching and maintaining the flexibility of your hamstrings improves your posture, and improves your walking and running. And, of course, helps prevent injuries.
